Free Professional Standard Installation

Our team will site-survey each job prior to scheduling installation of your service and determine the best installation method based on the existing infrastructure. During this process, we will tell you if there would be any extra fees to service you.

Very important: Someone who is able to approve the installation plan MUST be available to do so.

Fiber Connect

Aerial Fiber: In areas with above-ground fiber lines, free installation will include an aerial drop from our line to your house (this is normally in the alleyway).  We will typically “follow power” because that will grant us an automatic utility easement.  We will connect the line (or “drop) to a high-point on your home with a hook, and then run the cable to an outdoor fiber-box.  From there, we will connect a line into your home at a location suitable for the router. Note: this will require us to drill a hole through the wall.  The hole will be sealed.

If you do not want above-ground wires to run to your house, we can use an existing underground conduit that you have previously installed; this would incur no additional charges.  If you wish for us to install underground cable, it will have an additional labor fee that we will quote (and you will agree to) prior to beginning work.

Underground Fiber: In areas where we have installed our fiber-optic lines underground, we will typically install the line to your house underground as well.  We will install up to 300’ from our fiber line at no charge.  Beyond that distance may incur an additional fee, depending on the soil composition.  If we must cross paved driveways or sidewalks, additional fees may apply.  We will discuss the best path with you and disclose any additional fees before starting work.

Note that we are not responsible for damaged sprinkler systems during an underground installation unless you have clearly marked them prior to our arrival. We will call UDIG prior to our visit to mark gas, electricity, telephone, etc. If you know of any other lines in the ground, such as a propane line, please mark that for us.  While we will do our best to ensure to leave your site as neat-and-tidy as possible, there will be inherent damage to grass/landscaping while we dig in the line. We are not responsible for re-seeding grass.

Cables will run on the exterior of the building. Where the cable enters your building, we will drill a hole through the wall and seal the entry with a grommet.

SkyConnect Wireless

After locating a suitable line-of-sight to the transmitting access point, the MontanaSky installer will mount the outdoor unit (radio-receiver) using various methods and mounts. The outdoor unit needs to have a clear line of sight to the transmitter (Our Tower).  We will utilize either a J-Arm mount (like is used for a satellite dish), or a non-penetrating roof-mount when required to get above obstructions.  This will be discussed prior to installation.

We will run a CAT5 cable from the radio receiver into the home.  The length of the cable may not exceed 250’.

Wi-Fi and Network

Our technicians will provide you with a wireless SSID and password to connect your Wi-Fi enabled devices to your new service.  They will ensure that wired speeds to the router are working properly.  If you have ordered them, the technician will install additional Wi-Fi extenders in your home to provide optimal coverage.

Note: Standard installation does not include connecting all your individual devices or hook-up of CAT5 cables inside your home/business.  We can provide these services for an additional fee.
