Customer FAQ – Mtn Max Wireless Acquisition by MontanaSky Networks

1. Who is MontanaSky Networks?

MontanaSky Networks is a regional internet and telecommunications provider based in Montana. We specialize in delivering high-speed fiber, wireless, and rural broadband services across Flathead and Lincoln counties. MontanaSky is the largest wireless internet provider in Northwest Montana and has a strong record of innovation and local customer care.


2. What is happening with Mtn Max?

Mtn Max was acquired by Vero Fiber; however, Vero did not purchase the wireless assets of Mtn Max. A separate agreement was reached for MontanaSky Networks to acquire and service the wireless internet customer base previously supported by Mtn Max.


3. Why did MontanaSky acquire Mtn Max wireless assets?

To ensure uninterrupted service for Mtn Max wireless customers and provide access to a larger, more robust wireless network. MontanaSky’s infrastructure and experience in fixed wireless services position us to offer enhanced connectivity, better support, and long-term service stability of these connections.


4. How will this affect Mtn Max customers?

  • There will be no immediate service disruption.
  • Over the coming months, you can expect improved reliability, enhanced network capacity, and access to MontanaSky’s expanded service options.
  • MontanaSky staff will contact each Mtn Max customer to assist with a smooth transition.

5. Will my internet plan or price change?

Your current plan and pricing will stay the same initially. As the integration progresses, we may offer new plans with better value. In general, most customers will receive faster speeds at a reduced rate.


6. Who do I contact for support or billing questions?

Please be patient with our team as we update documentation and customer records during this period.


7. Will my bill come from MontanaSky or Mtn Max?

Beginning August 2025, you will receive your billing statements from MontanaSky Networks.

Note: MontanaSky did not receive your saved payment information from Mtn Max. You will receive instructions to set up a new account login and enter your payment details.  We are extending due dates to mid-August to ensure a smooth transition.


8. What improvements should I expect?

  • Access to upgraded wireless equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ongoing investment in next-generation fixed wireless technology.
  • Long-term support from a locally based provider.

9. When will I begin to get new equipment?

  • Initially, your service will continue using existing Mtn Max equipment, operating on the MontanaSky system.
  • MontanaSky will schedule technician visits to install MontanaSky equipment, optimizing placement based on the best tower coverage at your location.
  • We aim to complete these transitions within 90 days.

10. Will I have to change my IP address?

Yes. IP addresses are provider-owned, and the acquisition did not include Mtn Max’s IP addresses. While this change won’t affect most users, business customers may need to update network configurations. MontanaSky is prepared to assist you or your IT staff with this process.
